Sirtaz S. Sibia, DO, FAOCO currently serves as the President of North American Sikh Medical Dental Association. By training, Dr. Sibia is an ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive cataract surgery and ophthalmic plastic surgery.  He is involved in training ophthalmology residents, and currently is the assistant program director of the North Broward Ophthalmology residency program.  He is a past president of the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and currently is chair of its Foundation’s advisory committee.

Dr. Jaspal Singh is board-certified in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. His clinical expertise spans several areas of pulmonary procedures, thoracic oncology, mechanical ventilation, and sleep-disordered breathing. He is a nationally recognized speaker and educator in clinical and other healthcare topics, with a specific interest in how healthcare systems adapt to physician shortages, including how to incorporate technological innovation and team-based care.  He has several publications and projects in the digital health and innovation spaces, bringing innovative ideas to real-life clinical environments. Dr. Singh has helped to lead the implementation of Tele-critical care at Atrium Health, which is now one of the largest in the United States. He assisted with the home virtual hospital program during the COVID pandemic, and has helped to co-lead a consensus document on best practices in tele-critical care. In addition, Dr. Singh has had a number of successful innovations including:

  • Developed one of the largest USA-based critical care advanced practice training programs.
  • Co-led the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s ICU Liberation campaign.
  • Implemented a large home sleep apnea testing program.
  • Led the implementation of a robotic pulmonary procedural service.

Dr. Singh serves as the Atrium Health Medical Director of Adult Pulmonary and Critical Education as well as the Atrium Health Medical Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Adult Medical Specialties. He is also the Medical Director of Respiratory Care at Central Piedmont Community College and co-Medical Director for the Schwartz Rounds for Compassionate Care. 

 Dr. Vasdev was born in Kenya and grew up in England. He received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of London and completed his anesthesia training at Addenbrookes Hospital University of Cambridge, England.  He completed fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesia, Critical Care Medicine, and Liver Transplantation at Mayo and joined the staff at Mayo in 1995. He worked in multiple divisions before becoming a member of the RMC Jacobson Division. He has received Teacher of the Year award from the Mayo Fellows Association and served as President of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP), a position he leveraged using education to connect physicians and nurses throughout the world.

Dr. Gurpreet K. Padam, Chief Medical Officer of Apollo Health Care Center is fellowship at Stanford/VA Palo Alto and a mini-fellowship in Ethno-Geriatrics at the Stanford Geriatric Education Center.  Dr. Padam is a board-certified Family and Lifestyle Medicine physician, Palliative Medicine sub-specialist, and a pioneer in Home-Based Medicine with over 23 years of experience. She is hospice medical director and the founder of a Home-Based Medicine program, providing house-call and telehealth services to homebound individuals, allowing them to receive palliative focused primary care in their own homes. As a Certified National Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach, Dr. Padam integrates preventive strategies focused on lifestyle changes to manage and prevent chronic diseases.  She serves as an advisor to non-profit Gurdwara based clinics to promote community health, Seva, health equity and access to care.

  Dr. Jasleen Kaur Pannu is an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Ohio State University. She is a leader in lung cancer early detection and interventional pulmonology, having developed the Ohio State Early Lung Cancer Detection Program, which uses AI to diagnose early-stage lung cancer. Dr. Pannu has been recognized as a 2023 and 2024 Distinguished American College of Chest Physicians Educator for her contributions to medical education. She is also deeply involved in mentorship, including launching the WIIP mentorship program for women in interventional pulmonology and leading a 12 week career advancement program for women in medicine. As a prolific researcher she is was the scientific program chair for the 2024 American Association of Bronchoscopy and Interventional Pulmonology annual conference and actively mentors fellows and healthcare professionals in the field.

 Dr. Puneet Singh is currently an attending physician serving as a hospitalist within the Department of Hospital Medicine at Duke University Hospital, and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. He also serves as a physician advisor for the health system, with responsibilities including reviewing medical records to ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations and assisting Utilization Management in various roles. In addition to these leadership roles, he is fortunate to serve as an educator, having a commitment to educate a diverse group of students and residents during their Internal Medicine inpatient rotations. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (2015) and completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency (2018) at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and then was honored to serve as Chief Resident there from 2018 to 2019.

 I’m Dr. Neal Singh, an orthodontist currently working in Fort Myers, Florida. I graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2017, completed a general practice dental residency program at Montefiore Medical Center in 2018, and completed an orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics residency program at Jacksonville University in August 2022. I worked as a general dentist for 3 years, and now have worked as an orthodontist for 2 years. I started getting involved with NASMDA while a dental student in 2014, and now I’m excited to help move the organization forward as a part of the NASMDA board!
